Price confident of erasing World Matchplay disappointment: "I'm going to change that this year"

Gerwyn Price will head into this year's World Matchplay as the World Champion and World Number One but into a tournament 'The Iceman' has historically performed poorly in.

Price has only made it to the latter stages once and has fallen in the first round in the last four years.

But he is looking to put that right and has the confidence ahead of a return to fans for the first time in 2021 for the World Number One.

“The Matchplay is one of the PDC’s top events and its one that I am desperate to win. I’ve never done as well as I know I should’ve done, especially in recent years. But I’m going to change that this year," said Price to Red Dragon Darts.

“Obviously I missed the Premier League, a tournament I was really excited for, so I haven’t played a huge amount of competitive darts recently, but I’m raring to go now & show everyone what they’ve missed.”
