Price confident of erasing World Matchplay disappointment: "I'm going to change that this year"

Gerwyn Price will head into this year's World Matchplay as the World Champion and World Number One but into a tournament 'The Iceman' has historically performed poorly in.
Price has only made it to the latter stages once and has fallen in the first round in the last four years.
But he is looking to put that right and has the confidence ahead of a return to fans for the first time in 2021 for the World Number One.
āThe Matchplay is one of the PDCās top events and its one that I am desperate to win. Iāve never done as well as I know I shouldāve done, especially in recent years. But Iām going to change that this year," said Price to Red Dragon Darts.
āObviously I missed the Premier League, a tournament I was really excited for, so I havenāt played a huge amount of competitive darts recently, but Iām raring to go now & show everyone what theyāve missed.ā

- fact is, the majority of people don't agree with you (read i.e. any reddit post on the subject, where the consensus is the likes of mardle and dawson are the best out there). personally i'll miss oatley but i consider most of the others to be dinosaurs with the combined personality of a cardboard box. warriner-little's "THE BULL" gimmick is affected and cringeworthy and he's never had the charisma for a commentary job.colt18-01-2026
