Price, Cullen, Aspinall and Gurney among six withdrawals from Players Championship 28

With the draw released for Players Championship 28, there have been eight late withdrawals from the field in Barnsley with Gerwyn Price leading the list.

Price lost in the Last 128 yesterday to Raymond van Barneveld after reaching the Semi-Final at Event 25 and 26 losing both times to eventual winners in Dave Chisnall and Damon Heta.

While for Joe Cullen, he reached the Last 16, lost in the first round and then Last 32 yesterday to Ryan Meikle.

Nathan Aspinall only played yesterday losing to Gary Anderson after playing an exhibition the night before in Skegness losing to Michael van Gerwen. While two non Tour Card holders who faced off in that exhibition in Peter Burgoyne and Matthew Edgar will play today.

Jason Lowe, Glen Durrant and Daryl Gurney are the other players to withdraw with Nathan Girvan, Steve Haggerty, Thomas Lovely and Stu Wilson filling in - the former in particular was the lowest at 36th on the alternate list.
