Price looks at ‘odds with himself’ according to Mardle: “At the moment he looks unhappy on the oche”

As the Premier League Darts rolled into Belfast, one aspect of the darting experience that remained the same was the abuse sent the way of Gerwyn Price and Wayne Mardle admits he is worried about 'The Iceman'.

Stemming back to an incident at the 2018 Grand Slam of Darts against Gary Anderson, Price has become the pantomime villain and received vitriolic abuse in most arenas since then which saw him wear ear defenders at the World Championship.

But he admitted himself he now has to grin and bear it after a ruling was changed to ban the use of the ear defenders and Mardle sees a player at odds with himself.

“Gerwyn Price looks at odds with himself to me. I don’t like to see anyone look unhappy and at the moment he looks unhappy on the oche," said Mardle on Sky Sports.

“I don’t want to see that, I want to see people come here and enjoy it. Hopefully he can.”
