Gerwyn Price returned to the oche after the ear defenders incident at the PDC World Darts Championship with a superb win over Paul Lim 6-2 at the Bahrain Darts Masters.
Price will look to kick start his 2023 in style and put his World Darts Championship behind him and certainly looked up for the task against the legendary Singapore Slinger.
He produced a 96.6 average and fired in three ton plus checkouts including a 124 and 139 back-to-back to win the match as he sealed it in style.
This after he initially lost his throw to start the tie but fired back with a 112 checkout to make it 1-1 for his first ton plus checkout f the tie. 'The Iceman' on top in the heat of the Middle East.
While Luke Humphries averted a scare as he took on rising Hong Kong ace, Man Lok Leung and sealed a 6-3 win but only after a comeback from 'Cool Hand Luke' was needed.
Leung was clinical to start the tie with an 11-darter for a 2-1 lead but a pivotal break at 3-3 after Leung missed darts for a 49 checkout and 4-2 proved vital.
Humphries turned it around at 4-3 and surged home from there hitting double eight last dart in hand to leave relieved.
