Gerwyn Price won through last night at the
World Grand Prix coming from a set down to defeat Mervyn King 3-1.
Price spoke afterwards about dropping that set which is the only part of the game that annoyed him.
"Definitely after the third leg when I lost and Mervyn (King) took out a big checkout. I think I was on 72 and hit a big seven, that was a bit of a sucker punch and to lose that set I went back stage and Merv was like I thought you was going to hit that 170, I didn't even say a word. I was livid. I was just thinking about that first set all the way through," said Price post match.
"I think he tries to get under my skin and sometimes it works but I'm glad I got over the winning line."
Added pressure
He was also asked about the potential for added pressure with the big names falling but he pointed to those still involved as not there to make up the numbers.
"All these players who are left in the tournament can win. They're not here to make up numbers, you see Ryan Searle how well he played today."
"You need to be on your A game to win games. I think I got a bit lucky today."
