Gerwyn Price has been the man of the moment in recent weeks in the world of darts and has shown it again with his opening display on Night 11 of
Premier League Darts in Brighton.
Chris Dobey averaged 103 but only got two legs as Price ran out a 6-2 winner with a phenomenal 116 average with four 180's and 6/10 on the doubles.
To begin the tie, Price took the opening two legs but Dobey halved the deficit with one of only two legs he won. He pinned a 127 and game for 2-1 down.
But Price streaked away again averaging 115 as he pounced on missed doubles to make it 4-1 and break throw. Dobey broke back with an 81 checkout to reduce the deficit to 4-2 but Price went one away and was still averaging 113 at 5-2.
He sealed the deal with a clinical 96 checkout and will now face his main rival for the top of the table in
Michael van Gerwen.
Van Gerwen again defeated Dimitri van den Bergh who continues his woeful record against the Green Machine with a fourth consecutive Quarter-Final defeat as he reeled off five straight legs from 2-1 down.
He won it 6-2 with a 104 average but all eyes now will be on his latest tussle with 'The Iceman'.
