Gerwyn Price is through to the Quarter-Finals of the PDC World Championship for the first time after defeating Simon Whitlock in a 4-2 victory.

Price is through to a tie against Glen Durrant; but had some scares against Whitlock at times; but ended up the victor with three 180's and 38 percent on doubles with high checkouts of 112 and 108.
Whitlock began the first set the better of the two but was made to rue missed darts at doubles for the set; with Price snatching it from there on double 10 as 'The Iceman' couldn't get going to begin the tie.
The missed darts at doubles were a theme of the tie as Whitlock was further punished in the next set when he missed five at doubles; Price as a result took out 108 to clinch it 3-1 despite the former attempting to force the initiative by breaking throw to halve the initial deficit.
Whitlock though wasn't going down without a fight; he took a clean sweep in the next set as Price began to falter beginning to miss darts at doubles himself.
He made it another leg without reply as he went 1-0 up; with another break of throw to begin the next set. Price finally brought himself back to the foray breaking and holding his throw to go 2-1 up and one away from being a set away from victory.
A brilliant set up in the next leg; with Whitlock down at 160 saw Price claim the leg on double 20 and go 3-1 up.
Price missed the bull for a 127 checkout; despite messing around initially, Whitlock pinned double 10 for a 1-0 lead. Price though missed multiple darts at doubles to make it 1-1 and Whitlock pounced to break again and from there it was 'The Wizard' who made it 2-3.
Price started the next set attempting to get back towards his best; with a brilliant 112 checkout and he went one away from victory with double 20.
A 180 brought him towards the brink; he took out 72 to complete the victory and keep his World Championship campaign on track.
