Price reacts after comeback win over Chisnall at World Matchplay: 'I played well in patches, but there's more in the tank'

Gerwyn Price came from 5-3 and 6-4 down to prevail against Dave Chisnall and reach the Quarter-Finals of the World Matchplay.

Speaking afterwards, he admitted it was about containing his emotions at times until he was back in it.

"It was a good match towards the end for me, I was frustrated early on but thankfully got over the winning line. I played well in patches but there's plenty more in the tank," said Price post match.

"I was trying to contain myself, try and keep myself focused and when I finally got back on level terms, I knew I was playing better than Dave (Chisnall), I knew I was scoring better on my legs but just letting him off on his legs. I knew get the break back, get in front of him, put him under a bit of pressure and I'd go on and win the match but it was difficult early on."

Next up is Jose de Sousa and he discussed what he expects from the tie.

"He's going to score well, he's going to be down on doubles after 12, 13, 14 darts. He's going to be there waiting. I know my scoring game has to be there."

In terms of what he needs to reach the top again, he said it is simply confidence from winning and he also spoke about having his family with him in Blackpool.

"I just need more consistency, confidence and playing and winning, that's what breeds confidence. My A game is not there yet but it's coming back. All I could hear is Dave's manager shouting and screaming, that's probably what was bugging me early on. When I turn over and see my wife and kids and they're all jumping up when I hit a big shot, it certainly helps."
