Price returns to action seeing off Hempel with ease, Van Gerwen surges past Cross

Two of the top names involved this weekend are through to the final day at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy in Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen.

There were potential doubts about Price coming into the tournament with the World Number One seemingly suffering with tennis elbow which saw him pull out of the Nordic Darts Masters.

But he dispelled those with a 97 average, three 180's and 6/16 on the doubles pouncing on a sloppy display from Florian Hempel for a 6-1 win.

While Van Gerwen returned to the winners' circle in Copenhagen and will look to make it back-to-back in a further boost to his confidence.

He made the best possible start seeing off Rob Cross 6-3 with two 180's, a 100 average and 42% on the doubles in a polished performance from 'The Green Machine'.
