Price seeking more success after Belgian Darts Championship triumph: "Hopefully I can keep this form going into the Premier League and UK Open"

Gerwyn Price has claimed the first European Tour title of the year and the inaugural Belgian Darts Championship at that with victory over Michael Smith in Hasselt.

Price claimed an 8-3 win easing past 'Bully Boy'; with a high checkout of 126 and 53 percent on the doubles in a run that saw him take out some of the main stars of the weekend in the latter stages; in Jamie Hughes and Dirk van Duijvenbode with relative ease. 'The Iceman' is very much a man on form going into the UK Open next weekend.

"The crowd were fantastic all weekend, I appreciate everything from them," said Price, who has already claimed a Players Championship title this season.

"I think my checkouts this weekend kept me in the games.

He added: "I hit some big shots when I needed them most to change the way some games were going.

"I think I played pretty well all the way through the tournament; hopefully I can keep this form going into the Premier League and UK Open next week."
