Gerwyn Price lost to
Michael Smith in the Quarter-Finals of the
UK Open on Sunday afternoon with the crowd once again on the back of the Welshman.
Smith wasn't best pleased at this stating as such in the post match interview and he also sent Price a WhatsApp message which was shared by 'The Iceman' which shows the mutual respect between the pair.
"Mate I'm sorry about that game then. That's twice crowd have been on your back last two games against me and I don't want to win like that. I wanna beat you when we're both 100%. I just wish people met the real you as you're one of the most genuine guys on tour pal and always have been," wrote Smith.
Price replied with similar praise telling him to go and win the title. "Honestly mate you're a great guy and a World Class player, sometimes I can handle it and players let me off. Just not tonight or the worlds, it's your time mate go get it."
This did not prove a lucky omen on the side of Smith with 'Bully Boy' losing out 11-10 in the final to Danny Noppert.
