UK Open champion Noppert jumps to 12th place on PDC Order of Merit; Van Gerwen drops to number five after early exit

The 2022 UK Open has concluded with Danny Noppert finishing the FA Cup of Darts in Minehead as champion.
As a result, Noppert who has been on the rise in recent years continues towards the top 10. He is up 12th which is of course a new career high.
Rob Cross and Joe Cullen are next up with both being only separated by around £10k each meaning that Noppert could feasibly make more progress in short order.
Peter Wright is of course the new World Number One and this tournament has also had knock on effects for the top five in general.
James Wade is now up to World Number Three, with Michael Smith despite losing in the final being up to World Number Four and only just under £2,000 away from The Machine.
While Michael van Gerwen's early exit has meant he has went to his lowest position in the Order of Merit in a decade as he is down to World Number Five showing the decline of the Green machine.
While further down, Nathan Aspinall continues to fall down to 17th with rises though for Damon Heta (23rd), Callan Rydz (29th), William O'Connor (34th) and Ricky Evans and Martijn Kleermaker (38th and 39th).
Scott Waites had one of the biggest rises of the weekend with 'Scotty 2 Hotty' having lost his Tour Card rising up to 97th place up 36 spots.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I blame the PDC to a certain extent though doubt they really care as they win regardless of which player wins or loses.Mysstree16-11-2024

I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
