The PDC
Development Tour consists of 24 tournaments in 2022. Per tournament, £10,000 in
prize money is paid out, so the prize pool for the entire circuit consists of £240,000.
Due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the PDC decided last season to do a separate
Development Tour for players from the UK and one for players from continental Europe. This year, the two tours have been merged as usual.
From reaching the last 64, players can earn
prize money, starting at £50. That amount then increases with each round. The winner will receive a nice sum of £2,000 pounds.
The
Development Tour ranking is based on the
prize money earned. At the end of the season the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the PDC World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2023 and 2024. It is also expected that the top 64 of the final ranking will be allowed to participate in the World Youth Championship.
