The 2021 PDC Challenge Tour season starts on July 2. Because of the corona pandemic, this circuit has been split into a separate tour for British and non-British players. During this circuit £240,000 in prize money will be distributed.
Both the UK Challenge Tour and the European Challenge Tour consist of twelve tournaments. The prize money per tournament is £10,000. Prize money is paid out from the last 64, starting with £50. This amount then increases per round. The winner will receive £2,000.
The Challenge Tour ranking is based on the prize money that players have won during the events. At the end of the season, the winners of both rankings (European and UK Challenge Tour) receive an invitation to the upcoming World Darts Championship and a Tour Card for 2022 and 2023.
There is also another reward for players who do well. The top of the rankings has the chance to participate as a reserve player in the Players Championship tournaments of the PDC Pro Tour. When a Tour Card holder doesn't sign up or withdraws, the highest ranked player on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit gets a call to enter the events.
