De Sousa looks back on first PDC title: "It was so emotional because my first year was so hard"

Jose de Sousa has now become part of the darting elite but it has been one hell of a journey for 'The Special One'.

De Sousa won his Tour Card in 2019 and made gradual improvements before claiming two Players Championship crowns with this year seeing three for the Portuguese ace. He discussed the emotion at the time on an episode of the Weekly Dartscast.

"My first title was with too much emotion. I cried in that moment because I just signed with my manager Mac Elkin. Since I signed with him, a couple of weeks later I won my first title. It was so emotional because my first year in the PDC was so hard," said De Sousa.

"In this moment it's something different now you are playing PDC and since I win my first title, it was so special to me because I think I have the same results as the big players. Last year I play 95% of the days of the year, 6-8 hours of the day to take my game on and I do that with so much sacrifice."
