The race for coveted World Championship tickets via the PDC Women's Series is nearing its climax. Four new events are on the slate in Leicester this weekend and, with only two weekends left, the tension is rising. Two players can already start planning for the PDC World Darts Championship, but that does not yet apply to Fallon Sherrock.

After 16 of 24 events, Beau Greaves tops the Women's Series Order of Merit by a wide margin. The English player has banked £29,700 in prize money and has won no fewer than 11 of the first 16 tournaments this season. Her lead is so substantial that the focus shifts to the places behind her. Moreover, Greaves is set to qualify for the World Championship via the Pro Tour Order of Merit.
The top three in the Women's Series Order of Merit earn a spot at the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace. Because Greaves leads and will qualify via the Pro Tour, the number four on the Women's Series Order of Merit will also head to Ally Pally. Lisa Ashton is in an excellent position. The four-time BDO world champion sits second on £12,550 and has built a comfortable cushion over her rivals.
Behind her, the battle is far tighter. Sherrock is currently third on £8,050 and, in that position, would again secure a World Championship ticket. However, “The Queen of the Palace” is far from certain of a return to Ally Pally. Vicky Pruim is fourth on £7,050, just £1,000 behind Sherrock. Gemma Hayter (£6,800) and Deta Hedman (£6,300) are also firmly in contention. Kirsi Viinikainen is seventh with £4,850 and will need a significant surge over the remaining eight events.

Sherrock cannot afford a flat weekend

That makes Leicester a high‑stakes stop for Sherrock. In 2019, the English player made darts history as the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Championship. She defeated Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic in succession and became one of the faces of the women’s game.

This season, however, Sherrock is still waiting for her first Women's Series title. She has reached multiple finals, but Greaves and Ashton have repeatedly taken the honours. Greaves is the season’s dominant force. Only Ashton, Deta Hedman, Vicky Pruim, and Eleanor Cairns have managed to win a Women's Series event alongside her so far.
