Rafferty will face Jonny Clayton over the Best of 19 on Wednesday night after an incredible win over Krzysztof Ratajski 5-4.
It could have been over at 4-3 for Ratajski who missed a handful for the match and Rafferty held his nerve for double five to send the match all the way.
'The Natural' survived six match darts in all from Ratajski and he returned for 67 to snatch his spot in the next round on debut in what was a sudden death shootout.
Earlier in the match, it was confirmed that Bradley Brooks will face Gerwyn Price in the other Last 16 tie to come out of that group.
While Rodriguez made his sudden death shootout count against Stephen Bunting producing an excellent display averaging 104.8 to win 5-1.
The Austrian hit 5/7 on the doubles to secure his place in the Last 16 as Group D runner-up joining Ryan Joyce as qualifying for the latter stages.

An 11-dart break of throw was the catalyst for Rodriguez who consolidated to make it 3-1 before producing a 122 checkout to break once more with Bunting sat on double 20.
He began his throw with a 180 and with Bunting way back, he set up double 20 for the win to claim it 5-1 in an exceptional performance.
