WHAT A WAY TO WIN IT! 🤯🔥 It's a precious two points for Joe Cullen as he seals a 5-4 victory over Adam Hunt IN STYLE with a massive 164 finish! #BoyleSportsGSOD
The opening ties of the second night at the Grand Slam of Darts have produced some exceptional displays with Krzysztof Ratajski and Joe Cullen claiming their first victories of the tournament.
Ratajski battled back to defeat Lisa Ashton in the opener. 'The Polish Eagle' was 4-1 down to 'The Lancashire Rose' and produced an exceptional comeback to edge through in a 5-4 win with six 180's and a 104 average.
He broke throw in the opening leg but Ashton broke back and pounced on poor doubling from Ratajski who was sat on 1/15 as Ashton went one away at 4-1 up.
But an 12 and 11 darter saw him back on level terms at 4-4 and the relief was there as he edged through a brilliant display from Ashton.
While Cullen found a 164 checkout in the decider to see off Adam Hunt in a 5-4 victory in what was a high quality affair.
Hunt moved 2-1 up with checkouts of 116 and 76 but Cullen broke to go 3-2 up taking control and going one away with a 94 checkout.
But a superb series of finishing saw Hunt stay in it with a 119 checkout on the bull to make it 4-3 and from there, Hunt finished 100 with two double tops to force a decider. Only for like alluded to 'The Rockstar' to smash in a massive finish to deny 'The Hunter'.
