Krzysztof Ratajski is through to the Quarter-Finals of the
World Grand Prix for the first time after an excellent display to see off Rob Cross 3-1.
Ratajski hit three 180's and 47% on the doubles en route and his quest for a maiden major title will continue after quelling the charge of Cross who couldn't reproduce his heroics in beating Peter Wright.
Both players pinned 180's but Ratajski hit double 10 to break in the opening leg. This was consolidated with the same target from 53 as he went one away from the opening set.
A 180 left 51 for Ratajski on Cross's throw which he pinned on double 16. On return though, he failed to get off until the 11th dart.
This meant despite a 177, it was too little too late as he pinned a 87 checkout on the bull.
He missed a 70 checkout and left double two but Ratajski couldn't get a shot at 114 and he went 2-0 up before letting out a roar as he pinned 106 to make it 1-1 in sets.
'Voltage' began the third set with a 180 but both missed opportunities to take the leg before Ratajski pinned double eight to break.
He consolidated this with a 17 darter on double 10 before Cross pinned an 84 checkout to keep himself in the set.
Double 16 was pinned by Ratajski though to claim the set and make it 2-1. He began with a 60 checkout to hold. The holds continued with Cross hitting double 18 to level up.
A 180 from Cross was cancelled out with a 177 from Ratajski who had a shot at 98 which was missed but he returned with Cross unable to hit 142 and he claimed it.
Ratajski claimed it though on double four to quell the revival of Cross.
