Madars Razma is through to the second round of the 2022/23 PDC
World Darts Championship after seeing off Prakash Jiwa who played his part on his debut taking a set and having opportunities to win more.
But ultimately miscounts and Razma peaking at the right time cost 'The Apache' and Gary Anderson will be next opponent for the Latvian.
Jiwa sealed an opening break in the form of a 54 checkout after Razma missed two darts for the hold. He followed it up with a 98 checkout for 2-0.
Razma missed a dart to send it the distance, Jiwa returned looking at double five but hit double 20 and Razma sent it all the way.
Jiwa missed another chance for the set and Razma hit double 18. But in set two, Jiwa hit double 20 to go one away from a set back.
Jiwa missed 101 for the set and Razma broke back on 90 and was throwing for a decider. Jiwa missed 112 for the set and Razma hit double 10 to send it all the way.
Razma missed 88 for the set and Jiwa pinned 78 for the set. Jiwa miscounted on 24 but Razma missed darts for 1-0 and Jiwa broke on double 12. A 64 checkout saw Jiwa go one away from a 2-1 sets lead.
Jiwa missed a set dart though and Razma sent it all the way at 2-2. A 12-darter saw him seal it with a 95 checkout at 3-2. A 75 checkout saw Razma go one away from the win and he pinned double four to seal it.
