Damon Heta made it to the last eight at the New South Wales Darts Masters in very convincing fashion. In front of his own audience in Wollongong, 'The Heat' put on a show.

Heta completely outplayed his opponent Joe Comito 6-0. The difference in averages was immense. An average of 106 for the former World Cup winner, compared to only 73 for Comito.

With an 11-darter, Heta started the match furiously and he then ran out to 3-0 with two moderate legs. Then the Australian turned up the pace again. An 11-darter made it 4-0, before Heta followed with a 13-darter and a 14-darter.

Rob Cross also did not run into any problems in his first round match against John Hurring. With an average of over 91, Cross had a good start, but 6-2 to beat the former world champion, who last week won the New Zealand Darts Masters. He produced five on the spin to win after early resolve from the qualifier.
