The PDC representatives have enjoyed fairly easy routes through to the Quarter-Finals at the
New South Wales Darts Masters with
Danny Noppert and
Dimitri van den Bergh dealing with local opposition.
Noppert was first up and dispatched TV debutant Brenton Lloyd 6-3 with three 180's and a high checkout of 121.
Breezing into a 3-0 lead with that 121 checkout, Noppert looked to ease through. But Lloyd had other ideas sealing three quick legs in succession to lock it at 3-3 parity.
But a 110 checkout set Noppert on his way again at 4-3 and after a missed dart from 96 from Lloyd, Noppert broke last dart on double two after missing 121 previously to go one away. He sealed it from there on double 16 for a 13-darter.
While Van den Bergh thrashed David Marland 6-0. This was despite 'The Dreammaker' averaging only 82 in the process, but in truth he didn't need his high averages.
Marland himself only hit 72 and missed all four darts at double that he received. This disparity in averages proved the difference with Van den Bergh despite missing 12 himself getting 18 shots at a double hitting six of them.
At times, he was at his clinical best and unlike last week, he will not head out early to a local qualifier.
