In his second round match against Michael Smith, Dirk van Duijvenbode threw a 170 finish for the first time during this year's World Matchplay.
That Van Duijvenbode of all people produced the highest possible finish, is no surprise. 'Aubergenius' has the most 170 check-outs to his name on the PDC Tour in 2022. Van Duijvenbode already threw a 170 finish seven times this year.
More remarkable is that there are three Dutchmen in the top three. Geert Nentjes is in second place with six 170 finishes, while Michael van Gerwen and Josh Rock share third place with five 170 check-outs each.
