Price can take over World Number One spot in PDC Order of Merit on Friday evening

In addition to a semi-final place at the World Matchplay, Gerwyn Price has another prize at stake. With a victory over José de Sousa, 'The Iceman' becomes World Number One once more.
Peter Wright, the current leader on the PDC Order of Merit, lost 16-14 to Dimitri van den Bergh in the quarter-finals on Thursday. The difference between the Scot and the Welshman is now only 13,750 pounds on the world rankings.
Price previously led the PDC Order of Merit from January 2021 to March 2022. Since March of this year Wright took top spot for the first time in his career.
