Update 17:00 BST Time - Van Gerwen thrashes Suljovic to claim title

Michael van Gerwen is the victor on Day Three with the World Number One going someway to dispelling form doubts by thrashing Mensur Suljovic 8-1 in the final in what has been a dominant day for the World Number One.

Read about it below!

Thanks for following along on Day Three, we will be back tomorrow with Day Four.

Update 16:30 BST Time - Van Gerwen to face Suljovic in today's final

The final is confirmed on the third day of the PDC Autumn Series with Michael van Gerwen set to face off against Mensur Suljovic in the final shortly.

Van Gerwen saw off Nick Kenny in a 7-4 win - with the latter being in his first ever Players Championship semi-final after eight consecutive first round defeats.

As ever with Mighty Mike, if the Welshman would have taken his chances it could have been a different story but the World Number One will now take aim at a first title of the Autumn Series.

He will take on Mensur Suljovic - a familiar adversary after a 7-3 win over Ian White saw him through and given MVG's performances so far today he will need a good display to trouble him.

Semi-Finals

Mensur Suljovic (88.5) 7 | 3 (88.2) Ian White

Nick Kenny (88.4) 4 | 7 (95.1) Michael van Gerwen

Update 15:45 BST Time - Van Gerwen claims revenge against Heta with whitewash win, set to face Kenny

We have our semi-final line-up on the latest day of action in Niedernhausen and Michael van Gerwen has been the standout performer today and will be in the semi-finals.

Van Gerwen has not played anywhere near his best but has been taking his chances and he has defeated yesterday's champion Damon Heta - who saw off the World Number One en route to the title in a whitewash win.

Nick Kenny will aim to dispel the run of the Green Machine after easing past Ross Smith 6-2 hitting a 117 checkout to win his tie. He will go for his first PDC ranking title.

In the other half of the draw, Ian White is through after a 6-3 win over Danny Noppert - both are two of the best performers on the ProTour but it is 'Diamond' who finds himself in the Last Four.

As does Mensur Suljovic who found a way past one of the best players today in Luke Humphries 6-3.

Update 15:05 BST Time - Van Gerwen claims first win against Durrant, set for rematch with Heta in Quarter-Finals

Michael van Gerwen has finally claimed a first win over Glen Durrant to reach the Quarter-Finals of the third day of the PDC Autumn Series.

Van Gerwen will look to now go on and win his first title in a week after reverting back to his old darts. He averaged 105.4 in winning 6-2 against the winner of the league phase in this year's Premier League.

Next up though will be a familiar foe in Damon Heta who defeated Mighty Mike en route yesterday to winning the title. He edged past Dave Chisnall 6-4.

There are also spots in the Quarter-Finals for Nick Kenny who ended the run of Lisa Ashton to reach his first Quarter Final. He will take on Ross Smith.

Danny Noppert and Ian White - two of the best performers on the ProTour will also face off with the winner potentially getting Luke Humphries who is having a remarkable day.

An average of 104 saw him breeze past Keegan Brown to add to 106 and 102 earlier today for 'Cool Hand Luke'. Could a first title be in the offing?

He will take on Mensur Suljovic who smashed Daryl Gurney 6-0 averaging only 91 but the latter only averaged 73.7.

Update 14:00 BST Time - Van Gerwen to face Van Duijvenbode after Robinson win, Krcmar produces brilliance to dump out Smith

The second round is complete at the PDC Autumn Series Day Three with most of the big names making it through to the Last 32.

Among them is Michael van Gerwen who saw off Reece Robinson 6-2 with a 100 average, losing yesterday to Damon Heta at this stage it wasn't such an early exit for the World Number One.

Also impressing included Ian White and Jose de Sousa unsurprisingly who averaged 104 and 104 in wins over Mike de Decker and Jelle Klaasen.

It was the continued brilliance of Boris Krcmar though which was the most impressive with victory over Michael Smith.

The multiple Soft-Tip World Champion who has made at least his board final in recent days has really started to acclimatise to life in the PDC and produced back-to-back ton plus finishes to return from the brink and knock out 'Bully Boy'.

In his board final, he will take on Lisa Ashton with a real shot at another good run for both players today.
