Heta claims maiden PDC ranking title with victory over Cullen in PDC Autumn Series Day Two dartsnews.com/pdc/heta-claim…
The final is set on the second day of the PDC Summer Series with Joe Cullen set to face Damon Heta - with the latter being a first time ranking finalist in his maiden year as a Tour Card holder.
Heta of course has pedigree and is a TV champion having won the Brisbane Darts Masters in stunning fashion last year. He has regularly been among the top performers when he has played this year albeit with Coronavirus halting his ability to play in the Summer Series.
He has firmly come back with a bang though today defeating Michael van Gerwen earlier and now disposing of Stephen Bunting in a game that while wasn't his best never saw him massively troubled by 'The Bullet'.
In Cullen's semi-final it was very much different with the Bradford ace winning the last three legs to defeat Aspinall in a last leg decider to move through. A two time winner on the ProTour but both back in 2017, he now has the opportunity to add to that if he can deal with 'The Heat'.
Gerwyn Price (103.2) 5 | 6 (103.0) Joe Cullen
Nathan Aspinall (87.3) 6 | 5 (91.5) Ian White
Simon Whitlock (88.3) 2 | 6 (88.3) Stephen Bunting
Martin Schindler (83.3) 3 | 6 (93.3) Damon Heta
Joe Cullen (93.9) 7 | 6 (97.2) Nathan Aspinall
Stephen Bunting (83.5) 3 | 7 (86.4) Damon Heta

We have our semi-final line-up in Niedernhausen with Joe Cullen set to face Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Bunting to take on Damon Heta.
Cullen edged past Gerwyn Price - the favourite at that point for the title in a 6-5 win which saw both players average the 103 mark. 'The Rockstar' has been impressive over the past three days and has been going about his business well.
This performance was in stark contrast to Nathan Aspinall who edged past Ian White in a game where both were frustrated that they couldn't produce their best darts. The former UK Open champion though will still get an opportunity to add to his title haul.
Stephen Bunting will want to add to his title haul. 'The Bullet' has new darts and has looked one of the best in the field today, he breezed past Simon Whitlock 6-2.
He will now take on Damon Heta, the Brisbane Darts Master who accounted for Michael van Gerwen earlier today and he will get a chance of a potential first PDC ranking final.
Gerwyn Price (103.2) 5 | 6 (103.0) Joe Cullen
Nathan Aspinall (87.3) 6 | 5 (91.5) Ian White
Simon Whitlock (88.3) 2 | 6 (88.3) Stephen Bunting
