Results Players Championship 3, Last 64: Harms survives comeback to dump out Anderson, Wright edges past Huckvale

One who has fallen by the wayside and will not repeat his heroics of Players Championship 1 is Gary Anderson. 'The Flying Scotsman' battled back from 5-1 down against Wesley Harms but this wasn't enough as 'Sparky' had a late surge in the decider to edge through to the next round.

James Wade is another who will not make anymore progression with 'The Machine' being smashed by Darren Webster 6-1 who impressed with a 102 average.

Other quality displays came from Michael Smith who averaged 105 but only just defeated Benito van de Pas, Danny Noppert who hit a nine-dart finish and a 107 average to defeat Andy Boulton; as well as John Michael who averaged 103 in a 6-1 win over Carl Wilkinson.

Peter Wright is also through as the World Champion survived a real scare against Adam Huckvale but the 'Bad Medicine' was not administered; with 'Snakebite' edging through in a decider.
