The two-time world champion averaged 'just' 94, but it was enough to reach the last 32. Making the third round was something Peter Wright failed to do, as 'Snakebite' was defeated 6-1 by Brendan Dolan. Wright's fellow Premier League participants Daryl Gurney and Simon Whitlock were also knocked out.
Gary Anderson continued his display of strong form with a whitewash of Davy van Baelen and an average of 105. Meanwhile, Terry Jenkins came out on top in a battle between two veterans as he took on John Part. Among the other players to progress are Dave Chisnall, Mensur Suljovic, James Wade and Adrian Lewis.
