The Spaniard then battled back by taking set three, before the pair proceeded to trade blows in set four. Rodriguez broke throw with a 115-checkout in the third leg to lead 2-1, but 'The Spartan' managed to hit back by winning two consecutive legs to send the match into a fifth set.
Reyes then upped his game, hitting big finishes of 108 and 104 before converting D10 to triumph. The 31st seed now faces reigning world champion Rob Cross in the third round.
