Richard Veenstra sends Dave Chisnall home in Riesa; Ricardo Pietreczko triumphs over James Wade

Richard Veenstra has secured a place in the last sixteen at the International Darts Open in Riesa. 'Flyers' recorded a handsome victory over Dave Chisnall, who was the number one seed at this tournament.

Veenstra managed to grab a 2-0 lead early in the match after two good legs, but Chisnall returned to 2-2. The Dutchman recaptured the lead with a 14-darter, then made it 4-2 with a 76 finish. Veenstra then held his own leg with a 17-darter, before taking the final score to 6-2 with a 15-darter.

Earlier in the evening, Ricardo Pietreczko brought joy to the German crowd by defeating James Wade. The German was still trailing 4-5 after nine legs, but managed to make it 5-5 with a fine 81 finish while Wade was waiting on tops. The deciding leg then went to Pietreczko with a 14-darter.
