A tantalising Quarter-Final tie has been set up as
Josh Rock will face
Rob Cross in the latter stages of the
Gibraltar Darts Trophy this evening as the upcoming World Youth finalist continues to impress.
Rock came from nowhere after winning some WDF events late last year sealed his Tour Card at Q-School after being highly touted by stablemates including John O'Shea and Alan Soutar and went on to dominate the Development Tour and now is seen by many as a future elite player.
He saw off Jonny Clayton in his latest win battling back to do so as he came from 5-3 down and survived one match dart before closing out a 6-5 win with a 98.7 average.
Next is Cross who is looking solid as he looks to defend his European Championship in two weeks time and he took down Ryan Joyce in the process.
It was a high quality tie between the pair which Cross edged 6-4 with a 104.8 average with 'Relentless' himself hitting 102.7 in defeat.
Both held to begin the tie with Joyce striking first at 4-3 on double eight but Cross hit an 11-darter on double 18 to break back before consolidating which proved pivotal as he went on to pin 86 after Joyce missed three darts including one at the bull for a 167 checkout.
