Justin Smith seals penultimate PDC Challenge Tour tournament of 2022 with Event 23 win

Justin Smith has sealed the penultimate PDC Challenge Tour tournament of the season with a maiden title at Event 23 in Leicester.

Smith defeated Matthew Dennant after defeating Jordan Brooks and Nathan Girvan in the latter stages. This goes into the final tournament with Scott Williams assured of his Grand Slam spot.

Currently Robert Owen will seal a World Championship spot and Tour Card alongside Danny van Trijp who are currently the top two.

Stephen Burton, Jurjen van der Velde, Thibault Tricole and Karel Sedlacek still remain in the running albeit Van der Velde is set for a Tour Card through the Development Tour and seemingly only Van Trijp's position is under threat barring a title and a deep run for one of two players and an early exit.
