Josh Rock is one of two debutants at this year's
World Matchplay. 'Rocky' is considered one of the emerging top talents on the circuit and qualified for the tournament in Blackpool as number one in the seasonal Pro Tour rankings.
''It's a dream come true,'' Rock said of his impending debut at the Winter Gardens. "I watched the World Matchplay as a fan for years, so to have the opportunity to play on that stage is phenomenal."
The Northern Irishman will take on Damon Heta in the first round. If he wins, Michael van Gerwen or Brendan Dolan awaits in the second round. Rock is very positive about his form.
''I believe I’ve played better this year than I did last year. I’ve been more consistent and I’ve gained so much experience and now I know what I have to do [to win]."
