The greatest 132 checkout ever? Phil Taylor secured the World Matchplay title in 2009 with an almost impossible dart at the Bullseye to beat James Wade.
From July 15 to 23, the 2023 World Matchplay is scheduled to take place. To warm up a bit for this tournament, in the coming period we will look back at some events in the past of the World Matchplay.
Fifteen years ago, Phil Taylor brilliantly took the overall victory at the World Matchplay 2008. In the final, 'The Power' faced James Wade, who could offer little opposition to his compatriot.
While the 16-time world champion needed one more leg, 132 was on the required for the title. Taylor started on the bullseye, but the arrow fell into the 25 and almost completely blocked the red bit. After finding the triple 19, he managed to perform the impossible, moving half way across the stage somehow finding a path to the bull with arguably the greatest single dart ever thrown.
