It will be an all Smith battle in the final of the 2022 European Championship as Ross Smith will face Michael Smith shortly in Dortmund.

Smith was cruising at 5-0 up to start the match but nearly was taken to a decider by Chris Dobey who missed multiple darts to make it 10-10 after 'Smudger' had missed a match dart and finally the Deal ace fell over the line at 11-9.
After 2017, Smith was in the darting wilderness but came back to the sport and has since sealed a maiden PDC ranking title and could be a major winner by the end of tonight if he can defeat 'Bully Boy' who will look to avoid losing yet another final. What a story.
After that nightmare start, Dobey showed signs of life hitting his first 180 and double 20 to get off the mark at 5-1. Smith continued to edge clear at 6-2 with 85 on the bull but that mini-session went to Dobey who went in at the second interval 6-4 down.
On return, his revival continued taking out two double 20's for a 100 checkout but his revival was nearly cut short as Smith surged ahead again breaking to go 9-5 up and going two from the final.
But the interval came at the wrong time as despite going one away, a missed match dart allowed Dobey to make it 10-8 and seven perfect darts for an 11-darter saw 'Hollywood' go 10-9 down but that effort proved fruitless as Smith finally fell over the line.
