Pascal Rupprecht made it to the second round of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time at the
European Darts Grand Prix on Friday. He defeated Christian Kist 6-5.
The German dart player found himself a couple of breaks behind against the Dutchman, but eventually managed to turn a 4-5 deficit into a narrow victory. Afterward, Rupprecht looked back on the game against Kist.
"We both struggled a bit in the beginning. The decider was very important. I was a bit lucky there that he didn't put much pressure either. He also played fantastic otherwise and I'm glad I took the win in the end," he analysed afterwards.
Rupprecht appeared out of nowhere early this year. Without having played a single PDC tournament, he captured a PDC Tour Card at the Q-School.
And so reaching the second round at the European Darts Grand Prix marks another milestone for Rupprecht. "I still can't quite believe it. I am now looking forward to Saturday (when Dave Chisnall awaits in the second round, ed.), it will definitely be a fun match."
