Ruthless Rock seals straight sets win over Rydz, sets up Aspinall clash at PDC World Darts Championship

A match with heavy billing in this session with both rising stars of the oche, it wasn't the close affair that it could've been with Josh Rock easing past Callan Rydz in a 3-0 sets win.

Rock didn't get out of second gear improving towards the end to seal a 92 average and 36% on the doubles with Rydz looking crestfallen after missing 23 darts on the outer ring. Next up is Nathan Aspinall.

Rydz hit double 20 to seal the opening leg. He hit the first maximum of the contest but failed to break throw with two darts being spurned and Rock mopped up double 10.

Rydz made it 1/12 on the outer ring and Rock hit 60 on double 20 to break and go one away from the opening set. Rydz missed 170 on the bull but Rock missed a dart at double 20 for the set and Rydz hit double 18 to send it the distance.

Rock missed double 13 for the set but Rydz missed one himself for the set and Rock returned for a last dart double four for 1-0.

Rock missed 74 on double 20 for a hold and Rydz broke back with a 76 checkout to begin set two. A 62 checkout saw Rock break back.

Both kicked off 180 but both failed to go onto a nine-dart finish and Rock hit a 54 checkout to go one away from a second set.

Rock missed two darts for the set but returned with Rydz missing a dart at the bull only to miss a fifth dart but Rydz missed again and Rock hit double five for 2-0.

Rock missed 129 on the bull for a break but Rydz slipped into double five off double 20 and Rock hit double 12 to break. He hit double 20 to go one away from the match. Rydz hit double eight to hold but Rock hit double five to seal it.
