Ryan Searle will be Martin Schindler's opponent in the final of the 2024
Swiss Darts Trophy in Basel. 'Heavy Metal' became the second finalist by winning easily over
Callan Rydz in his semifinal.
It is the first time for Searle to be in the final of a Euro Tour final. The Englishman has enjoyed considerable success on the Pro Tour in the past, with four titles in the past four seasons, but on the Euro Tour he just didn't succeed.
Searle reached the last four at the Hungarian Darts Trophy last week for the second time in his career on the Euro Tour, but lost to Gian van Veen in the semifinals. Against Rydz he did manage to survive the penultimate hurdle.
In the first leg of this semifinal, Rydz missed two chances to keep his own leg, then Searle hit the double 10 for a break. 'Heavy Metal' then ran out to a 3-0 lead before Rydz produced a 78 finish in leg four.
The fifth leg was another win for Searle, who then threw out 126 for a 5-1 lead. Rydz then missed two more doubles in the seventh leg before making it 6-1 with a 17-darter. Searle then finished the job with a 14-darter for a 7-1 victory.
