Sad news for Toon Greebe with left lower leg also amputated: "No point dwelling on it"

Toon Greebe is once again dealing with severe personal suffering. After previously having his right foot amputated, he now also had to have his left lower leg amputated.

Greebe himself revealed the news on Facebook. "I don't feel like going further into it but last week, unfortunately, my left lower leg was also amputated. I am currently in hospital. No point dwelling on it, we have it tough enough," he said.

Previous amputation

At the time, the 34-year-old Dutchman, who played at the PDC World Championship in 2008 and 2010, had to have his right foot amputated after walking around with a wound on his heel for 10 weeks. Fearing a doctor, Greebe waited a long time before seeking help. As the pain eventually got too bad, his family sent him to hospital after all. There, however, it turned out that his foot couldn't be saved.
