It is Saturday night at the
Gibraltar Darts Trophy and the big names will come into proceedings tonight on The Rock including Michael van Gerwen, a week on from winning the World Grand Prix.
Van Gerwen is a three time winner in this tournament but has not claimed it since 2018 and will look to put that right in what could be the final edition (at least for now).
He faces Steve Beaton though who will look for an upset with his eyes on the European Championship if he can reach the latter stages and after receiving a bye yesterday, it all starts with MVG.
To start the evening though could be the tie of the night feasibly as Michael Smith faces Josh Rock in a battle of a former World Youth Champion and a player who could seal that title next month. Luke Humphries follows to end his incredible
European Tour season facing Kenny Neyens.
While in the biggest game of his life, Gibraltar's own Craig Galliano faces Peter Wright. Will 'Snakebite' look for a statement after his humiliating defeat to Van Gerwen at the World Grand Prix or can the World Cup star make one of his own.
Jonny Clayton follows on against Stephen Bunting, while the new look Mensur Suljovic returns for a repeat of last year's final when he faces Gerwyn Price. Flawless on the doubles yesterday, he will look for revenge after his 8-0 whitewash last year.
Before Dimitri van den Bergh - Gabriel Clemens and Joe Cullen - Ritchie Edhouse will end the session and a bumper one at that.
