GRANDSLAM GP1 PETER WRIGHT FALLON SHERROCK 03

Saturday night at the Grand Slam of Darts is here and one match will likely take top billing in the form of Peter Wright facing Fallon Sherrock, a year on from the Queen of the Palace's superb run in Wolverhampton and a top tie with the current World Champion.

But it is one which has a different complexion this time around with Sherrock not hitting the heights since then with World Series success hard to come by and not going to the PDC World Darts Championship after the brilliance of Beau Greaves at the last set of Women's Series. Can she recapture that form or will Wright start with a rampant opening win.

Michael van Gerwen has won every single tournament shown on Sky Sports barring the World Championship this season and will look to add this title for the first time since 2017. He starts off against Nathan Rafferty.

Another top tie sees Luke Humphries and Scott Williams, two of the most exciting players on the PDC Tour this season face off. While in the other clash of that group, Ryan Searle will face Josh Rock.

Opening the evening is the latest major champion in Ross Smith who faces Luke Woodhouse, also on the schedule is Damon Heta - Jermaine Wattimena, Nathan Aspinall - Alan Soutar and ending the evening, Jonny Clayton will face Leonard Gates.
