On Saturday night, the fifth edition of the
US Darts Masters begins in New York. The first match of this tournament starts at midnight UK time.
The event kicks off with a duel between Rob Cross and Jason Brandon, while Dimitri van den Bergh will then take on JT Davis. A meeting with Alex Spellman awaits Luke Humphries, and Nathan Aspinall meets Matt Campbell.
Gerwyn Price faces Dutch American Jules van Dongen, while Peter Wright takes on Jeff Smith. Reigning world champion Michael Smith crosses swords with Jim Long, while Michael van Gerwen and Jake Mcmillan conclude the first round.
How can I follow this tournament on TV?
Only the real die-hard fans will watch the tournament live, as due to the time difference with the United States, the event will be played in the dead of night.
The sessions in New York start at 19:00 local time, and then it is midnight in the UK. PDCTV will be your friend showing the coverage on both nights live with a delayed coverage on ITV4 and latterly ITV3 on Sunday.
How much prize money is there to win?
The total prize pool for this tournament contains £60,000, in addition to the fact that regular PDC players also receive an additional fee for their appearance at the tournament.
So on top of that comes the prize money, which starts at £1,250. This can eventually go up to a sum of £20,000 for the winner of the tournament.
Besides prize money, there are also points to be earned for the World Series Order of Merit. Through this ranking, the top eight qualify for the World Series Finals later this year in Amsterdam.
