The Euro Tour heads to Hungary this weekend! 🇭🇺 The draw and schedule for the Hungarian Darts Trophy (ET11) has been confirmed, as Dave Chisnall eyes back-to-back titles in Budapest! 🏆 👉 bit.ly/2024ET11
The Euro Tour season continues Friday afternoon with the Hungarian Darts Trophy 2024. The eleventh Euro Tour season of the season starts at 12 p.m. in the Hungarian capital Budapest.
The Hungarian Darts Trophy is scheduled to take place for the fourth time. In 2021, Gerwyn Price managed to win the very first edition by beating Michael Smith 8-2 in the final. A year later, the title went to Joe Cullen, who was too strong for William O'Connor in a surprising 8-2 final. In 2023, Dave Chisnall took the title by beating Luke Humphries in the final.

The afternoon session kicks off with a meeting between Darren Beveridge and Keane Barry. For Beveridge it will be his debut on the European Tour. Barry has a lot more experience in that regard. The Irishman played fourteen Euro Tours in the past, including one in 2024. In 2023, Barry reached the quarterfinals of a Euro Tour event twice.
Niels Zonneveld is the first Dutchman in action at the Hungarian Darts Trophy. The Dutchman had not originally qualified, but was flown in due to several cancellations. He will compete against Sebastian Bialecki, the winner of the qualifying tournament for players from Eastern Europe.
Next, Wessel Nijman enters the stage at the MVM Dome in Budapest. Nijman plays at his fifth career Euro Tour tournament against Host Nation Qualifier Gyorgy Jehirszki.
Florian Hempel is also making another appearance on the Euro Tour. The German will compete with Callan Rydz. Norwegian Dutchman Cor Dekker is also up on Friday afternoon. Dekker, who managed to get through the Nordic & Baltic-qualifier, will face Janos Vegso.
Another standout tie in the afternoon session is a meeting between Brendan Dolan and Martin Lukeman. For Dolan it will be his tenth Euro Tour tournament of the season, but 'The History Maker' never made it to the third round once. For Lukeman, it will be his fifth Euro Tour of the year. However, the Englishman is still waiting for his first win.
Hungarian fans can also look forward to a Hungarian clash between Alberto Bezjian and Andras Csoka. For both Hungarian players, it will be their debut on the Euro Tour. A meeting with Ryan Searle in the second round of the Hungarian Darts Trophy awaits the winner of this match.
The afternoon session concludes with a meeting between Lukas Wenig and James Wade. Wenig is playing his third Euro Tour, while Wade has yet to miss a Euro Tour this year. The Englishman has not yet achieved much success on the Euro Tour in 2024, as Wade did not manage to reach the last sixteen once this year. 'The Machine' could use a win, however, as he is in a fierce battle to qualify for the World Grand Prix.
The Hungarian Darts Trophy will be broadcast on PDC TV. As usual with Euro Tour tournaments, the Hungarian Darts Trophy consists of three tournament days. The afternoon sessions start daily at 12:00, while the evening sessions start at 18:00.
The first round will take place on Friday. The 16 Order of Merit qualifiers and the winners from the various qualifying tournaments then make their appearance. The top-16 seeded players enter the tournament on Saturday in the second round. Sunday will see the denouement of the tournament, starting with the third round in the afternoon session. Sunday night will be followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals.
At this Euro Tour tournament, a total of £175,000 in prize money will be divided among the 48 participants. They will receive at least 1250 pounds in starting money. The top-16 seeded players who enter the Hungarian Darts Trophy from the second round will receive 2,500 pounds anyway.
They do - like the 16 Order of Merit qualifiers starting in the first round - have to win their first match in order for the prize money to count toward the world rankings and the other rankings. The winner of the Hungarian Darts Trophy eventually goes home with the top prize of 30,000 pounds.
