Eight men are still in the race for the title at the
German Darts Grand Prix, including some of the biggest names in darts.
The very first quarterfinal of the evening is between Josh Rock and
Gerwyn Price. Rock won over Michael Smith in the third round, while Gerwyn Price dealt with Ryan Searle thanks to an average of 112.
Danny Noppert, who defeated Rob Cross earlier, will face another world champion in the form of
Luke Humphries, who once again showcased his top form on Monday afternoon with a 111 average in his match against Ryan Joyce (6-2).
Nathan Aspinall and home crowd favourite Martin Schindler meet in the third match of the evening, after they won over Ross Smith (6-2) and Chris Dobey (6-4) respectively in the afternoon session. The final quarterfinal is a Dutch clash between Van Gerwen and Wattimena. The latter defeated Dave Chisnall 6-5 at the last sixteen, while Van Gerwen is lightning quick to deal with Joe Cullen (6-0).
Later in the evening, the semifinals and finals will still be played. The eight quarter-finalists are already assured of £6,000 in prize money. This amount eventually rises to £25,000 for the winner.
Humphries and Van Gerwen have won this tournament before. 'Mighty Mike' won the German Darts Grand Prix in 2017, 2018 and 2019, while Humphries came out on top in 2022.
