Schedule Monday night at World Darts Championships as Gerwyn Price begins campaign against Connor Scutt

Gerwyn Price will begin his campaign at the 2024 World Darts Championship on Monday night. Mario Vandenbogaerde and Gian van Veen will also make their debuts at the Alexandra Palace.

'Super Mario' has been chosen to kick off Monday night. The Belgian will take on Thibault Tricole, the first ever Frenchman at the World Darts Championship. It is a match of great stakes for Vandenbogaerde. He is currently 64th in the world rankings. He must maintain that position to retain his Tour Card after the World Darts Championship. A victory over Tricole would suit him very well.

Van Veen will play Man Lok Leung in the second match of the evening. After a very strong first Pro Tour year, the Dutch sensation comfortably qualified for the World Darts Championship. Impressive performances throughout the year, including a victory over Michael van Gerwen, among others, he qualified for the semifinals of the European Championship at the end of October. Opponent Leung from Hong Kong forced his way into this tournament via the PDC Asian Tour.

Martin Lukeman begins his second participation at the World Darts Championship on Monday night. His opponent is New Zealander Haupai Puha, whose final victory at the Oceanic Masters marks his first participation in Ally Pally since the 2021 edition.

The evening concludes with one of the top favourites for the overall victory. Price will face Connor Scutt, who won convincingly 3-0 over Krzysztof Kciuk in the first round. Both men met twice on the Pro Tour, and both times Price comfortably pulled off the win.
