The schedule is set at the International Darts Open in Riesa as the big names come into the fray on Saturday including James Wade, Chris Dobey, Stephen Bunting and Dave Chisnall on Saturday afternoon.

The winners will advance to the final day. Read below which seven matches are set for Saturday. There is already one less with Rob Cross withdrawing meaning Martin Schindler is through already to the final day.

James Wade v Cameron Menzies

James Wade appears to have quickly moved on from his disappointing World Championship campaign. ‘The Machine’ has rediscovered form in recent weeks, reaching the final of the UK Open in early March, two quarter-finals on the Players Championship circuit, and a semi-final at the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze. He now faces Cameron Menzies, who had no trouble dispatching Kevin Knopf in the first round. Wade and Menzies have already met once this season, where the Englishman edged a thrilling 10-9 win over the charismatic Scotsman at the UK Open.

Danny Noppert v Karel Sedlacek

What was expected to be perhaps an all Dutch clash is the opposite as Karel Sedlacek paid heed to that by dumping out Jermaine Wattimena on Friday night.

'Evil Charlie' will return with Noppert not in the greatest form of his career so a potential shock could await again with another Dutchman to be felled.

Despite reaching the semi-finals of the World Masters earlier this year, ‘The Freeze’ has yet to find consistent form in 2025. He hasn’t reached a single quarter-final on the Pro Tour this season, a stark contrast to his steady performances in previous years.

Ross Smith v Ricardo Pietreczko

Ross Smith has been superb at times this season and reached the Quarter-Finals of the last European Tour losing narrowly to Gary Anderson who went on to be defeated by Nathan Aspinall with that incredible 170 checkout.

Smith will now battle with not only his next opponent but the crowd as he takes on German favourite Ricardo Pietreczko who easily took down an off par Krzysztof Ratajski on Friday night.

Damon Heta v Mario Vandenbogaerde

Mario Vandenbogaerde marked his return to the Euro Tour in style with a surprise comeback victory over Callan Rydz. The Belgian, who had missed all Euro Tour events in 2024 until now, was trailing 1-4 but reeled off five consecutive legs to seal a 6-4 win. This is the fourth time ‘Super Mario’ has reached the last 32 on the Euro Tour, but he has never made it to the final day. Today, he faces a tough test in Damon Heta. ‘The Heat’ has had a somewhat flat start to 2025. He’s only lost one opening-round match so far, but has reached just two Pro Tour quarter-finals, which is below expectations for the current World No.7, known for his consistency on the floor circuit.

Chris Dobey v Wessel Nijman

Chris Dobey opens a Euro Tour campaign against a Dutchman for the third time this year and the previous two didn’t go his way. In Wieze, ‘Hollywood’ lost immediately to Dirk van Duijvenbode, and in Göttingen, Jermaine Wattimena sent him packing. As a top-16 seeded player, Dobey must win his opening match for his prize money to count towards the Euro Tour Order of Merit, something he’s failed to do so far this season. His opponent is Wessel Nijman, who stormed past Radek Szaganski 6-1 in the opening round. The Dutch youngster has already earned £9,000 in prize money on the Euro Tour this year and will be looking to add more today.

Stephen Bunting v Darius Labanauskas

Darius Labanauskas produced one of the biggest upsets of the first round on Friday. The Lithuanian ousted Ryan Searle 6-3 with an impressive 102.40 average. It was the tenth time ‘Lucky D’ has progressed past the first round on the Euro Tour. He now faces Stephen Bunting, who is coming off a massive confidence boost. After a winless run through the first eight nights of the Premier League, ‘The Bullet’ finally found success in Berlin, defeating Nathan Aspinall (6-2), Luke Humphries (6-2), and Gerwyn Price (6-5) to win the night. That breakout performance may be just what Bunting needs to contend for another strong European Tour run in Riesa.

Dave Chisnall v Luke Woodhouse

Dave Chisnall has won eight Euro Tour titles over the years, but the International Darts Open in Riesa remains missing from his trophy cabinet. The venue hasn’t been particularly kind to ‘Chizzy’, with a quarter-final in 2015 being his best result to date. Earlier this season, he reached the last eight in Wieze, Belgium. The current No.1 on the Pro Tour Order of Merit faces Luke Woodhouse today, who booked his second-round spot with a 6-3 win over Matt Campbell. This will be their eleventh head-to-head meeting in a PDC event, with Chisnall leading with six wins from the previous ten encounters.

TV Guide

The tournament will be broadcast by Viaplay and PDC TV. As is customary with Euro Tour tournaments, the International Darts Open consists of three tournament days. The afternoon sessions start daily at 12 p.m., while the evening sessions start at 6 p.m.

The first round will take place on Friday, where the 16 Pro Tour players will face 16 players who emerged from the various qualifying tournaments. The winners of these matches will face a player from the top-16 of the world rankings in the second round on Saturday. The third round will be played on Sunday afternoon, before the quarterfinals, semifinals and final are completed on Sunday evening.

Distribution of prize money

All participants starting from the first round are guaranteed £1250 in prize money, while the top-16 enter from the second round and receive £2,500 anyway. This amount eventually rises to the grand prize of £30,000 for the winner.

An important detail is that players who are automatically seeded via the Order of Merit and lose their first match will not be awarded prize money on the various rankings. This does apply to qualifiers who are later designated as seeded by the withdrawal of others.
