Eight countries are still in the race for the title at the 2025
World Cup of Darts. Sunday afternoon, the four quarter-finals will be played before the denouement takes place in the evening with the semifinals and final, respectively.
All remaining countries will smell their chances from now on, after top favorite England was surprisingly eliminated by Germany in the second round on Saturday. With the Netherlands, Wales and Australia, there are still a number of former winners in the tournament. The format for the quarter-finals has remained the same as the matches from the second round. Still eight legs are needed to reach the next round.
Follow the World Cup of Darts 2025 via our live scores! We begin the afternoon session with a friendly between Northern Ireland and Ireland. It is a rarity for Ireland to make it to the last eight of this nations tournament, as it previously only succeeded in 2019. Back then, the country did manage to advance to the final. William O'Connor and Keane Barry narrowly escaped elimination in the group stage, but made short work of Switzerland (8-3) in the last sixteen. Northern Ireland had a solid start to their tournament on Saturday. Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney skipped the group stage and started their tournament against South Africa. Despite Devon Petersen and Cameron Carolissen throwing a higher average (91.83 to 88.66), the win went comfortably 8-2 to the Northern Irish.
Host nation Germany will take on Australia. Few would have given the Germans a chance against top English duo Luke Humphries and Luke Littler, but Germany won convincingly against the English 8-4. Earlier in the group stage, the German duo had already won without any problems against Portugal (4-2) and Singapore (4-0). In the quarterfinals, they face another former tournament winner, as Australia is the next obstacle. The country of Damon Heta and Simon Whitlock played a strong pool phase with victories over Spain (4-0) and Austria (4-1). The level was considerably lower in the eighth finals, but despite a moyenne of 85.05 per turn, they won 8-1 over Argentina.
After England's elimination, Wales is the new top favorite with the bookmakers. Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton got off to a successful start Saturday night by leaving the Philippines 8-2 defenseless. The numbers of the two darters from Wales were fine an average of 96.43 and a finishing percentage of 38.1 percent. They will now take on Hong Kong, which was responsible for Sweden's elimination with strong play. The two Asians Man Lok Leung and Lok Yin Lee threw an average of 94.16 against Sweden and qualified for the last eight with an 8-4 win.
In the semi-final match it is the turn of the Netherlands, which remarkably has not yet lost a leg this tournament. In the group stage there were resounding 4-0 victories over Italy and Hungary, while in the last sixteen top country Scotland was humiliated 8-0. It was the best match of the tournament so far, as Danny Noppert and Gian van Veen were the first country to average over one hundred (100.20) during this edition of the World Cup of Darts. The Dutch duo will now meet the Czech Republic, which easily handled Malaysia (8-3).

Latest comments- I think you miss the point. It is just a poll if you are willing to pay for an ad-free site. The content stays free.
- It's great to see Mark Webster looking well,he's a top lad
- I'm sick of everything wanting paying for ad free stuff, every site you go on,it's pay pay for no ads. I mostly dread picking my phone up,as it's subscription required. I'm not surprised I'm bloody skint. Everyone wants to rob you for services that were free
- I didn't like the bloke, but he was a real wind up merchant. His talent is wasted
- He wouldn't get a tour card if there was a million on it
- This gormless, dull as dishwater nobody hasn't done anything this year and has absolutely no right to be considered for anything other than checking people's tickets on entry and it is likely he couldn't cope with that.
- How can PDC players play in streamed events?
- Great comment, some of the matches were a bit one sided but that was more to do with the quality on show.
- I just think Aspinall loves the razzmatazz rather than real darts, goes on about his walk on and the premier league, loves exhibitions and proposed a 'royal rumble' and i'm not sure if it was him that suggested a Ryder Cup style tournament? I think they do need to look at how the ranking tournaments are treated, the UK Open, Euro Championships, Players' Championship all shoe-horned into four or so days rather than lasting all week and giving more players a chance to be on the big stage.
- I play at home against myself, sometimes on Dartcounter, never played league or county. My best average on 501 was 107 which I hit last year. Today I was averaging 94 on a few games of 501, no warm up, just a quick chuck after dinner. I imagine it's a bit different up on stage. I play well at home though and do pretty good for only around 20 minutes play per day. 🙂
