Last Thursday the
Premier League Darts was played in Berlin. Since it is not far from his home,
Martin Schindler was at the venue that night and was brought on stage for an interview between matches.
Among other things, he was asked by Wayne Mardle about his very good performance in 2022. "There are some ups and downs for me (in 2023), for sure," Schindler replied. "I always do my best and I still have progress to make. I have to keep giving myself time, be patient and hopefully then I'll get the confidence to keep winning.''
Schindler is giving himself that time. "I'm going step by step. Those are my goals. I think if you put too much pressure on yourself in a mental sport, sometimes it becomes too much to handle. Especially if you tell it on TV or in the media and then don't make it. You get punished for that."
Schindler closed by expressing the dream of playing in Premier League Darts himself in the future. "That's where I want to be in a few years. I mean, what could be better than being in the Premier League and playing here in Berlin?"
