Ryan Searle is into his maiden PDC major semi-final after a superb victory over Daryl Gurney 10-9 at the
Players Championship Finals.
Searle spurned multiple opportunities to claim the win before taking out 104 in the decider with Gurney sat on double 20 to cap off a great display. He produced seven 180's and a 101.2 average and will now face Brendan Dolan.
Searle stayed in touch with Gurney early on who gained the lead before going on three legs on the spin to go 4-3 up. It was Gurney's turn though to regain control as he took out 100 to make it 6-4.
Searle came back though and regained the lead at 7-6. He stretched his lead from there to make it 9-6 with double 20 hit by 'Heavy Metal'.
Going one away though, Searle faltered missing a match dart allowing Gurney off the hook to make it 9-8. He pinned double 20 from there to make it three legs on the spin and send it all the way at 9-9.
But with Gurney sat on double 20, Searle capped it off in style with a brilliant 104 checkout to seal his spot.
