The penultimate Players Championship of the year ended in a triumph for Cameron Menzies. The 35-year-old Scot captured his first ever PDC ranking title by defeating Stephen Bunting 8-4 in the final.

The highest average of the day though, went to Josh Rock. The young Northern Irishman was a 6-2 winner against Karel Sedlacek in the opening round, posting an average of 113.39, no one did better in Leicester on Wednesday afternoon. Rock eventually lost in the last 32 after a 6-4 defeat to William O'Connor.

The second highest average came in the name of William O'Connor. In the last 64, the Irishman defeated Matt Campbell 6-1, averaging 108.63. O'Connor then steamed through to the last 16, where he eventually lost out 6-3 to James Wade.

The top three highest averages at Players Championship 29 is completed by Chris Dobey. 'Hollywood' was 6-3 too strong for Gabriel Clemens at the last 32, posting an average of 108.28. Dobey eventually stranded at the last 16 after a 6-5 defeat to Mensur Suljovic.
